The Expanding Future of Boeing Fleet

Screen Shot 2015-06-15 at 11.30.39 PMThe commercial airline industry was in trouble for a long time thanks to the horrors that followed in the wake of September the Eleventh. A lot of people were reluctant to fly on planes for a while, and many people found the increased security precautions highly off-putting. However, after over a decade, the situation has begun to change for the better. In an increasingly global society, air travel is going to become that much more important. Air travel is also going to become that much more profitable in a global society that is going to favor increased communication between borders.

According to Boeing, the expansion of the world’s airlines is going to be nothing short of massive. Over the course of the next twenty years, 38,050 airplanes are going to be introduced, according to Boeing. This expansion of the airline fleet is going to cost around 5.6 trillion dollars. It represents an increase of 3.5 percent compared to the predictions that were made as recently as a year ago.

It seems that the commercial air travel market is expanding even faster than a lot of people predicted, and the need for more airplanes is going to be that much more important within the next two decades. The planes that are in demand are definitely the ones with the narrower bodies. These planes have single aisles, and there will be 26,730 of them over the course of the next twenty years.
