Unfortunately, countless people fall victim to the celebrity lifestyle and often mistakenly begin to believe they are invincible. With exposure to drugs and alcohol, celebrities often become entranced in a lifestyle that begins to center fully around their addiction.

Just like any drug addict, celebrities often end up throwing their entire lives away, losing focus on what truly matters. Just like many others these 5 celebrities who lost it to drugs and alcohol often regretted their choices after it was much too late.

1) Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston, daughter of gospel great Sissy Houston, rose to fame in the 1980s with her stellar vocals on pop songs and love ballads. Unfortunately, her religious background did not prevent her from falling victim to cocaine and a host of other drugs. Many blame her ex-husband Bobby Brown, yet some report her drug addiction started before she even met him. Regrettably, Houston fell victim to her addiction and passed away in 2012. Her daughter was found in the exact manner three years later.

Mayor of Los Angeles suburb of Bell Gardens shot dead

The shooting at Bell Gardens stemmed from an afternoon quarrel between the mayor, Daniel Crespo, 45, and his wife, Levette, 43, that escalated when their 19-year-old son, Daniel Jr., intervened, sheriff’s spokeswoman Crystal Hernandez said. …

At least 36 feared dead on Japanese volcano, search called off

New Jersey hospital CEO, wife found dead in house fire

(Reuters) – A New Jersey hospital chief executive and his wife were found dead early Sunday following a fire in their home, law enforcement officials said. John Sheridan Jr., 72, the CEO and president of Cooper University Health System, and his wife Joyce, 69, were found unresponsive in the second-floor bedroom of their Montgomery Township home around 6:15 a.m. local time, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. At least 31 people feared dead after Japan volcano erupts

By Elaine Lies TOKYO (Reuters) – Thirty-one people were presumed dead on Sunday near the peak of a Japanese volcano that erupted unexpectedly a day earlier while it was packed with hikers out to admire autumn foliage, sending a huge cloud of ash and rock tumbling down its slopes. Police said the 31 people were found in “cardiopulmonary” arrest but declined to confirm their deaths pending a formal examination, as per Japanese custom. An official in the area said rescue efforts had been called off due to rising levels of toxic gas near the peak, as well as approaching nightfall. …
